Follow the 2023 Silly Boat Regatta, an annual event organized by the Nanaimo Child Development Centre (CDC).
Every year, businesses in Nanaimo take on the challenge of building the most ridiculous watercraft possible using various everyday materials. These one-day sailors then embark on an epic race across the bay in Maffeo Sutton Park. But it's not just about competition: these businesses sponsor the event — helping to raise funds for the Nanaimo CDC. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to supporting children with disabilities and their families, providing essential support to help them reach their full potential.
