Trois-Mâts Belem

Le dernier grand voilier français et navire école

Lifestyle photography aboard the Belem, one of the last traditionnal French Tall Ship

For a few days, I sailed among the crew of the three-mast Belem, the last French tall ship and training vessel, during a journey from Marseille to Cannes, passing through the Golden Islands. I discovered the intricacies of sailing aboard this majestic rig.

The Belem, classified as a historic monument, is managed by the Belem Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting this unique maritime heritage. Thanks to its efforts, the Belem continues to sail and train new generations of sailors. The foundation offers navigation courses and ship tours, allowing everyone to experience what it’s like to sail on an authentic Tall Ship.

It was an unforgettable journey in an idyllic location. Every moment aboard the Belem immersed me in traditional maritime life and the timeless charm of sailing.
